LAND REVENUE
Crown Rents on Lands leased for periods varying from 14 to 999 years. The leases are disposed of at Public Auction Sales, held in accordance with Notifications.
Ordinance 8 of 1858, Section 20. LANDS OCCUPIED BY CHINESE VILLAGERS, SQUATTERS, &c., under Squatters Licences issued by the Surveyor General, viz.;- Villagers and Squatters at Hongkong at $1 per annum for 150 Square Feet, Do. do. at Kaulung at $1 per annum for 300 Square Feet, Cultivated Lands at Hongkong and Kaulung at 75 cents per annum per Mow = 733 Square Yards.

In all cases where permission is given by the Surveyor General to erect a pier over Crown Foreshore, and such pier is removed on or before the expiration of one calendar month from the date of granting such permission, the encroachment shall not be subject to Crown Rent.
