I beg to forward my usual Annual Report on the state of the Protestant Cemetery in the Wong Nei Chong Valley, the state of repair of Government House, the state of the furniture therein, and the arrangements under which it is provided.

  1. The Cemetery suffered considerably during the Typhoons of last Autumn; the Entrance Gates were blown down, also three or four large trees, and the windows and doors of both the Mortuary Chapel and Lodge were injured by the wind. Thorough repairs have been commenced; and are not yet completed. The space available for graves is now becoming limited and it is a matter for consideration whether another plot of ground should not shortly be set apart as a Protestant Burial Ground.

On the 1st September last the Schedule of Burial and Monumental Fees fixed December 1864 was revised and amended by His Excellency the Governor in Council.
