The old furniture
by the Board was all sold in March last
and the new furniture referred to in the
report for

of. A special survey was
made the latter end of December in view of the early departure of His Excellency the Governor from the Dolony, when the furniture
was all
found to be in good order.
All the lower suites of
rooms are
furnished
at the expense of Government as being those required for public reception, the first

floor is furnished at the expense of each Governor. In the case of the present Governor a special condition is required of him as an allowance was
made by
order of the Secretary of State for the inconvenience to which he
who
subjected

his taking possession (the house having been entirely denuded by the previous Governor Sir John Bowring of all his effects)
To prevent such inconvenience to the- Succeeding Governor, Sii Hercules Robinson is to offer the refusal of his private furniture to the New Governor should he desire to purchase
it at a valuation.
