The Military Posts, and Works, are under the control of Her Majesty's War Department. No expense is incurred on account thereof by the Colony, and they are as follows:-
Military Store houses and offices, Arsenal yard; Military Store and Powder Magazines at Cheung Chau and Hei Ling Chau; Murray and North Barracks; General and Native Victoria Military Hospitals and Hospital ship; Murray Battery; Wellington Battery; Head Quarter Battery;

In addition to the above, there are 5 Sites on various parts of the Island set apart for the erection of Batteries for the defence of the Harbour and city of Victoria; "Hercules" moored in the harbour; Officers' Quarters with Medical and Barrack Stores at Spring Gardens; Commissariat Offices; Barrack and Store houses; Commissariat Department; Stanley, Saiwan Barrack Buildings; Kowloon Temporary Mat and Wood Hut Barracks; Commissariat Mat Shed Store houses are as follows:- Belcher Point, North Point, Possession Point, Ochterlong's Battery - Syemoon Peninsula.
There are no works on these 5 reserved sites, but they are reserved for works yet. Also, Sites for Military Works have been proposed to be reserved at Kowloon and Stonecutters' Island.
