REMARKS
(4) Mr. Rinaetter was appointed Treasurer on the 13th April, and confirmed on the 13th September 1854. The date given in the column for appointment is that of the Letters Patent subsequently issued. He obtained 12 months' leave on medical certificate, and on his departure the Office of Colonial Treasurer was put in Commission, consisting of the Colonial Secretary as Resident, Mr. Hyndman, Chief Clerk in the Treasury, and Mr. Reinhard, Clerk to the Auditor General, as members. During Mr. Rinaetter's absence the half salary of the office has been equally divided between the two members of the Commission; namely, at the rate of £150 each per annum.
(5) Mr. Hyndman resigned his situation in the Office of the Chief Superintendent of Trade in China, and joined the Colonial Service on the 1st October 1855.

(44) Mr. Hinaccter was appointed Freasurer on the 13th April, and confirmed
on the bits September 1854. the dock given in the Column Absence for 12 is that of the Lottery Patent
subsequently issued.
