these consist principally in opiums, and an adequate quantity of Cingcloth. This trade is corried on with great perecy, and we have never been able to ascertain its amount, although it is during the summer months

all parts of Southern Chince, and preceed to Ten-tsin, Shanghai, and
Vengps : Their cargues are already full, but when the capitaires find that they can bey manufactures very cheap at this part, they will often invest considerable sums of money and lose the goods to the ports not visited by our
lake yeeds merchant ships. We have seldom less than 30 Vessels of this description per month, and there are very amongst them, that do not lay out some & money.

Such is the general detail of the Commerce. So long as Hongkong sem a free port, it will be very difficult to give something more definite; the above however may be considered as a fair outline.
