6. On the 8th March a tiger was killed at Lung Kwat-tau, near Fanling in the New Territories, but before being disposed of it unfortunately caused the death of European Police Constable E. Goucher and an Indian Police Constable Rattan Singh. The tiger was exhibited the same afternoon at the City Hall, Hong Kong, and the head is now in the Museum.

7. Mr. M. J. Breen continued to act as Assistant Colonial Secretary until the return of Mr. A. G. M. Fletcher from leave on the 9th March.
