VIII.—APPRECIATION.

120. The writer wishes to thank all members of the staff for their untiring efforts. Heavy demands were made upon them all and they were called upon frequently to work excessive hours on account of the abnormal conditions prevailing. He wishes particularly to acknowledge the devotion to duty of British Section engine crews who continued to work the mid-day fast and the mixed trains between Kowloon and Canton throughout a period of intensive bombardment.
