11. Extensions of terms of leases: There were twelve extensions of terms of leases during the year involving a total area of 102,882 square feet and deriving a total premium of $8,270.12.

15. Prospecting and Mining Licences: There were no new Prospecting and Mining Licences issued during the year and no renewals.

16. Cemeteries. Two areas, one at Hammer Hill in New Kowloon (area 100 acres) now known as Hammer Hill Urn Cemetery, and the other, between Chai Wan and Tytam Gap, in Hong Kong (area 16.79 acres) now known as Chai Wan Cemetery, were set aside as above.

A staff of one Chief Draughtsman and fourteen Chinese draughtsmen was employed during the year, the Chief Draughtsman was on leave for 8 months, and two Chinese draughtsmen were seconded to other departments during the last half of the year. 7,071 plans detailed below were prepared in connection with thirty-seven land sales, 466 leases and miscellaneous permits, exchanges, etc.
