49. Mr. G. B. Twemlow.—By the death of this officer, which occurred so shortly after Mr. Green's departure, the department lost a valuable man. Mr. Twemlow joined the department as a Supervisor on 1.2.23, and by his assiduous attention to duty and general capability, gained promotion to the position of Assistant Superintendent on 1.1.27. During the Superintendent's absences on long leave, he was appointed Acting Superintendent and carried out these duties very ably. It is with great regret that his death on 2.8.37 has to be recorded.
