(3) by the amendment of by-law 2 with the object of defining the licence fees payable in out-lying districts.
The amendments were made by the Council on 16th February and approved by the Legislative Council on 10th March.
B. By-law 2 (1) under the heading "Conservancy" contained in Schedule A to the Public Health (Sanitation) Ordinance, 1935, was amended with the object of defining more clearly the area within which the Conservancy By-laws apply. The amendment was made by the Council on 17th August and approved by the Legislative Council on 22nd September.
C. By-law 3 under the heading "Scavenging" contained in Schedule A to the Public Health (Sanitation) Ordinance, 1935, was amended with the object of defining more clearly the area within which the Scavenging By-laws apply. The amendment was made by the Council on 9th November and approved by the Legislative Council on 15th December.
D. The by-laws under the heading "C. Licensed (stall-holders) hawkers" set forth in the Schedule to the Hawkers Ordinance, 1935, were amended:
(1) by the amendment of by-law 2 with the object of requiring that no materials other than wood and metal be used for the roof of the stall.
(2) by the introduction of a new by-law 13 with the object of requiring every licensed stallholder hawker to keep his stall at all times in a clean and sanitary condition.
The amendments were made by the Council on 5th January and approved by the Legislative Council on 3rd February.
(ii) Markets.—The following new markets were opened during the year:
Wanchai New Market.
Kennedy Town Wholesale Market.
Stanley Market.
The following markets were closed during the year:
Wanchai Old Market.
