18. Twenty-six boats took part in the dragon boat processions in the Yuen Long area.

19. The District Officer, as "father and mother of the people", dealt with 48 disputes concerning women and children, and 19 miscellaneous disputes. In most of these, as indeed in all matters in connection with which their help was sought, the Elders of the Heung Yee Kuk and the Hop Yik Company gave as always their wise and willing assistance.
