1. 535 Girl Juvenile Offenders were admitted to the Home during the year for the following offences:-
Hawking 441 Mendicancy 28 In Possession of "Po Piu" (Lottery Tickets) 4 In Possession of Raw Opium 5 In possession of Dutiable Liquor 4 In Possession of Dutiable Tobacco 6 In Possession of Heroin Pills 9 In Possession of Forged Notes 1 Breach of Forestry Regulations ... Larceny 13 Coining Offences 2 Breach of Traffic Regulations 2 Fighting in the street ... Destitute and Wandering 27 Enquiries ... Total 5352. Of this number, 42 were dealt with as Adults, 2 transferred to the Salvation Army Home and 87 were ordered Detention by the Magistrate for the following offences:--
Hawking 61 Mendicancy 9 In Possession of Raw Opium 2 In Possession of Dutiable Tobacco 2 In Possession of Dutiable Liquor 1 In Possession of Heroin Pills 1 In Possession of Forged Notes 1 Breach of Forestry Regulations 4 Larceny 4 Breach of Traffic Regulations 1 Destitute and Wandering 1 Total 873. Four girls were admitted to Hospital during the year. Many cases of scabies and numerous minor complaints were treated in the Home. The Medical Officer (Mrs. Nash) visited the Home weekly, and at other times as required.
