The China National Aviation Corporation inaugurated their thrice weekly service to include Hong Kong in their Shanghai Canton line on 5th November, 1936, and during remainder of the year made 106 trips totalling 53,070 miles carrying in and out of the Colony 171 passengers and 0.6 tons of mail and freight.
