20. Surveys were made in detail for plans to be attached to Crown Leases of 843 lots. These surveys entailed very accurate measurements of all boundaries, dimensions in every case being given to the nearest inch. Co-ordinate values of each angle of a lot were obtained and the areas computed by double departures. The measurements, co-ordinates and areas were entered in a special record book.

21. Surveys were made of several areas of various sizes for plans to be attached to deeds of surrender.

22. The boundaries of 163 areas (building lots, permit areas, quarries, &c.) were set out and the frontage lines to streets of 139 lots were checked.

23. 2,190 stones to define the boundaries of 567 lots and concrete posts to define twelve quarry areas were fixed.

Boundaries of numerous lots and street alignments were set out for the Drainage and Roads sub-departments.

25. Various small surveys were made and plans prepared for the Police Department in connection with criminal cases.

26. The annual perambulation of the Anglo-Chinese boundary was made for the inspection of boundary marks. Three boundary stones were refixed.

27. A revision of the departmental regulations was put in hand but is not yet completed.
