Drainage-(a) Training Nullahs:-A new nullah was constructed to a length of 276 feet and decked with a R.C.C. roof for its full length; parapet walling was built to a length of sixty-six feet and pot holes on the foreshore at Repulse Bay, south of R.B.L. 158, were filled in with concrete to eliminate mosquito breeding.

(b) Miscellaneous Drainage Works:-New main sewers and storm water drains to a length of 3,216 feet and varying from 51" to 6" in diameter were constructed principally at Shaukiwan East, North Point, The Peak, and Wongneichong. A protection guard wall of rubble was constructed to the stream-course at rear of S.I.L. 525, Shaukiwan East, and a fresh air inlet and 2″ vent pipe were fixed to the Septic Tank at Repulse Bay. The number of drain connections made was 106.

Miscellaneous:-Works carried out were as follows:- Tsan Yuk Hospital-iron wire guards to windows, Government Civil Hospital Medical Officers Quarters-installed two geysers, No. 8 Police Station-supplied and fixed fire extinguishers, Central Fire Station-constructed petrol store, Mountain Lodge-new weather board shed, No. 410 The Peak-erected bamboo fence, Aplichau Cemetery-the erection of a corrugated iron store shed, Junior Technical School-new fence to sports ground, Wanchai Store-erected petrol pump shelter, Public Mortuary-supplied and fixed Fire Extinguishers, Junior Technical School-supplied and fixed fire extinguishers, Police Club-erected un-climbable fencing, Infant Welfare Centre at Wanchai-reinstated old premises and various improvements in new premises, No. 157 The Peak-shelves in servants quarters, Stubbs Road-fixed new pillar box, Queen's Pier-decorations, District Officer South's Office-supplied notice boards, Government House-supplied notice boards and fifty marker plates.
The levelling and turfing of the football ground and certain other portions of the areas in Queen's College Recreation Ground, Causeway Bay were completed.
Improvements and additions to the electrical installations were made in twenty-two buildings. Fifty-four electric fans, five radiators, eight telephones and two bells were installed in twenty-seven buildings.
