Maintenance of Buildings:- Government Buildings were kept in a good state of repair. Painting, colourwashing and repairs in accordance with the recurring programme were carried out to eight buildings. Major repairs included the following:- Lai Chi Kok Prison - renewed chimney, flyproofed latrines, repaired fencing and rebuilt fireplaces in Indian Cook-house, Shamshuipo Police Station - repairs to roof and surface of compound, Water Police Station - rebuilt Indian cooking fires and repaired wire entanglement.

The electrical installations were maintained in good order. 801 points in nine buildings were tested and seven inventories of electrical fittings issued. Shamshuipo Police Station was rewired.

81. Improvements to Buildings:- The principal improvements carried out were:- Water Police Station - erected brick store and Shamshuipo Police Station - extension to platform.
