175. Chinese Cemeteries:-Laying out new areas.—This work is referred to in paragraph 33 of this Report.

176. Refuse Pier at Kweilin Street, Shamshuipo:-A marine survey and borings were taken at the latter end of the year and a contract for this work was in preparation.

177. Refuse Dump at Cheung Sha Wan:-This work was referred to in paragraph 189 of last year's Report. Messrs. Chung Lee & Co. continued their dumping contract until the end of March. The contract was not renewed as the dumping area was filled to approved levels.

178. Kowloon Tsai Development:-This work was referred to in paragraph 193 of last year's Report. The Contractor continued cutting and filling to approved levels and good progress was recorded throughout the year. The total amount of filling deposited up to the end of the year amounted to approximately 969,300 cubic yards. The construction of some temporary storm-water surface drains was also carried out.

179. Levelling site of New Polo Ground and Stream Diversion:-A contract for this work was let to Messrs. The Union Construction Co. in November, 1933. An area approximately 930 feet by 510 feet was levelled and turfed, and a pavilion erected thereon together with minor works. The contract was successfully carried through and completed by the end of October.

180. Two Postal Kiosks:-The work consisted of the erection of two postal kiosks over nullahs, one at Nan Chang Street and the other at Waterloo Road. The kiosks contained a Public Office, a strong room and clerk's accommodation and water closet. A contract let to Messrs. Chung Lee & Co. on the 30th July was completed satisfactorily on the 5th November.

181. Police Revolver Range:-The work consisted of the formation of an open range at King's Park. A contract let to Messrs. Kin Lee & Co. on the 23rd August was completed satisfactorily on the 23rd October.
