140. Construction of Rubble Mound at Kennedy Town:- This work was referred to in paragraph 146 of last year's Report. A contract to construct a live stock landing and sea wall was awarded to Messrs. Woo Hing who commenced work on the 24th September. At the end of the year, the rubble mound had been formed to approved levels for a length of 400 feet; the sea wall built three courses high for a length of 200 feet. The five 65-foot reinforced concrete piles for the dolphin were manufactured and driven in position. Government Grab Dredgers 1 and 2 had dredged the foundation trench for a length of 150 feet from the existing rubble mound. $24,618.91

141. Compensation and Resumptions.-In Table XVI a record is given of resumptions carried out. Included under (b) Development Schemes, the following are the outstanding resumptions:-Inland Lot 754, Section A, to provide a suitable site for a proposed Public Health Clinic in the Western district of Victoria; Inland Lots 807 and 808, in connection with a future extension of the Public Gardens and Rural Building Lot 255, for future development in the vicinity of Deep Water Bay-Staunton Creek area. A detail of expenditure is given in the table.
In connection with the development of Aplichau Village the resumption of certain squatters claims was effected. This is also included in Table XVI.
142. Anti-Malarial Works, etc. :-Work in the Lyeemun area was completed toward the end of the year. A continuation of permanent nullah training was carried out in the Mount Parker area at Quarry Bay, at Sookunpoo and at Kowloon Tong.

143. Magistracy at Yaumati:-This work was referred to in paragraph 148 of last year's Report. A contract for the site formation was let to Messrs. Hop Cheong & Co., on 13th April and was completed satisfactorily on 3rd October. Working drawings for the building were prepared and tenders were being called for by the end of the year.
