106. Market-Arsenal Street:-This was referred to in paragraph 104 of last year's Report. This work was carried out and completed in similar materials and manner to the market at Bowrington Canal—vide the preceding paragraph. Messrs. Hop Cheong & Co. carried out the contract which was completed satisfactorily on 4th December.

108. Upper Levels Police Station:-This work was referred to in paragraph 217 of last year's Report. A contract for the erection of temporary barrack sheds to accommodate the Police during re-building, was let to Messrs. Foo Loong & Co. and the work was completed on 26th May. A contract for demolition of the old building and site formation preparatory to the erection of the new building, was let to Messrs. Tak Hing & Co. and the work was completed on 26th September. The contract for the new building was let to Messrs. Hong Kong Engineering and Construction Co., Ltd., on 26th September. At the end of the year the foundations were completed and the reinforced concrete frame was in course of erection to first floor level.

109. Senior Officers Quarters, May Road :-This work was referred to in paragraph 218 of last year's Report. Working drawings were prepared for two blocks of flats to accommodate twenty Senior Officers. A scheme for the site preparation and approach road was completed, tenders obtained and reported. Work was not proceeded with.

New Quarters at The Peak Wireless Station :-The work consisted of the erection in brickwork of thirteen single quarters for the Chinese Technical Staff, one mess room, two baths and lavatories, and kitchen accommodation. The contract was let to Messrs. Tai Tack Shing on the 2nd August and the work was practically completed by the end of the year.
