Shorter routes chiefly for checking purposes were run:-
From Jardine's Corner, Plunketts Road, Severn Road to Barker Road.
From Repulse Bay, Beach Road and along Old Stanley Road to Stanley Gap.
From Island Road to Stanley Trig. and return.
Macdonnell Road from Bowen Road to Garden Road.
Stubbs Road from Morrison Hill Road to Tai Hang Road.
From Jardine's Corner down Old Aberdeen Road to Aberdeen.
From Magazine Gap, Coombe Road, to Wanchai Gap.
Broadwood Road from Wongneicheong Road to Tai Hang Road.
From Aberdeen across Aberdeen Harbour to Aplichau.
In all nine Fundamental Bench Marks and one hundred and fifteen Bench Marks were valued during the year.
31. Levels were taken across Lyemun Pass. Fifty observations, 25 from each side were taken at different times of the day.
Reciprocal levelling was carried out across the harbour from the Praya near Queen's Pier to the sea wall near Kowloon Railway Station Clock Tower.
A full description of these operations will be given in the report on the "Levelling of Hong Kong," and is therefore not provided in this report.
