The following seven buildings were completely rewired for electric light, power and fans; total number of points, two hundred and ninety-eight:-Nos. 2 and 3 Royal Observatory Quarters; Tsim Sha Tsui, Mong Kok and Hung Hom Markets; Yaumati Police Station and Police Training School.

171. Resumption of Ma Tau Wei Village. The Government obtained possession of all the village lots by exchange. There was, therefore, no expenditure under this head.

173. Mong Kok Police Station, Fence wall with railings. The work consisted of the levelling of the ground and the erection of a wall on reinforced concrete foundations, to enclose the extended boundary of the site. It was completed in May.

174. Back Lane Service Pipes.-9,432 feet of 1" to 3″ diameter wrought iron piping were laid as subsidiary mains in back lanes. 521 houses were connected to these mains during the year.
