105. Claims outstanding against the Chinese Section on account of suspension of Through and Joint Sectional traffic and Demurrage remained outstanding at $1,025,533.96. No additions were made in 1932.
106. Debits in respect of Demurrage and Hire of Railway stock for the year 1932 were accepted by the Administration of the Chinese Section monthly, and the accounts adjusted accordingly.
107. Interest on the net depreciation debited to Operating Expenses and credited to Depreciation Reserves in respect of 1932 amounted to $9,446.24 and was included in the Income Account under subhead Interest on Depreciation Reserves.
108. Interest on Loan and Special Expenditure for the year was included in the Income Account and the balance carried to Profit and Loss Account, this balance, standing at $348,947.35, being transferred to Surplus Appropriation Account.
109. The accumulated deficit at the end of the year stood at $8,844,331.58, an increase of $384,947.35 over the previous year.
