(b) Miscellaneous Drainage Works.-New sewers and storm water drains were constructed to a length of 20,150 feet, varying in diameter from 6" to 78", principally in Shamshuipo, Wong Uk, and Kowloon City. 159. Filling in Areas N. W. of Nan Chang Street and West of Taipo Road-This work was referred to in paragraph 246 of last year's Report. After slow and unsatisfactory progress the contract was completed on 28th November, 1932. The contractor, Messrs. Fu On & Co., was under a penalty of $1,820.00 for twenty-six weeks over the time allowed.

160. Refuse Dump at Cheung Sha Wan.-This work was referred to in paragraph 247 of last year's Report. Fresh tenders for a yearly contract were called for in April and Messrs. Pang Loong & Co. were awarded the contract. Good progress was made during the year. The contract was handed over to Port Development Office on 31st December, 1932. Ten new tipping wagons and 600 lineal yards of second-hand rails were supplied by Messrs. Lai To Construction Co. for a sum of $3,174.00 in September, 1932.
