Causeway Bay Typhoon Shelter; 2,817 cube yards and 23,224.59 cube yards were dredged in connection with the excavation of trenches for sea wall foundations at Yacht Club and North Point respectively, the cost of the latter works being charged against Head 37 P.W.E. Sub-heads 10 and 26 respectively.

62. Stores Depreciation. The adjustment of stores values and reconditioning of old stores have been met from this vote, amounting to $6,874.56.
The following sums were credited to this vote: $3,705.92 being rebate on Freight Charges in connection with stores purchased in England through the Crown Agents; $3,130.13 being the value of Stores returned which had been issued prior to 1932.
The result showed a net expenditure on this vote of $38.51

63. Bathing Places. The provision of these facilities was referred to in paragraph 128 of last year's Report. At Kennedy Town 26 cubicles were provided. The Beach was opened to the public on 5th July and closed on 15th October. Attendance fair. At Repulse Bay permission was granted for private enterprise to erect structures.

KOWLOON.
64. Maintenance of Buildings. Government buildings were kept in a good state of repair. Painting, colourwashing and repairs in accordance with the recurring programme were carried out to twenty-four buildings. Major repairs included the following: Blackheads Signal Station and Kowloon Godown - extensive repairs to typhoon symbols, Yaumati Old Market - repairs to floor surface and W. hangars, Tsim Tsa Tsui Police Station - renewal of mast, Royal Observatory - repair of extensive white ant damage, Central British School — repair of extensive white ant damage, Tsim Tsa Tsui Police Station - repairs to roof and white ant damage, lime and cement concrete surfacing, Yaumati Police Station - expanded metal guards to windows, Ma Tau Kok Cattle Depot - repairs to floors and chimneys, Mong Kok Fire Station - repairs to partitions, etc., Police Training School - repairs and alterations to entrances and white ant damage.
The electrical installations were maintained in good order. 273 fans, twenty-five radiators were cleaned and overhauled. Thirty-two fans and motors were completely rewound and
