12. Ellis Kadoorie School.—Headmaster, Mr. W. Kay, M.A. The maximum enrolment was 477 and the average attendance 437—an increase of thirty-six.
13. At the Annual Examination 62% of Class 4 passed and 83% of the remaining classes.
14. Mr. Lau Tsoi retired on pension at the end of the year. He rendered valuable service as Senior Chinese Master since the Government took over the School nearly twenty years ago.
15. The School continues to specialise in country excursions and bathing.
16. Good use is made of the Geography and Reading Rooms.
17. Additional lavatory accommodation has been provided for the Staff. A feature of the year has been the immunity of members of the Staff from sickness. This may be attributed partly to their activity on the Badminton court and in other sports.
18. Yaumati School—Headmaster, Rev. G. E. S. Upsdell, M.A. Maximum enrolment 289. Average attendance 266—an increase of twenty-five. Considerable progress was made in this school last year. Thirty-six out of thirty-seven Class 4 boys qualified for promotion to a secondary school.
19. The lavatory accommodation has been improved and the electric wiring has been entirely renewed.
20. The school has now allotted to it an excellent enclosed Sports Ground in King's Park. The Annual Sports Meeting was as popular as ever. The school won the Junior Schools Volley Ball Shield and the Junior Ping Pong Shield.
21. The Staff of this school is also to be congratulated on its freedom from sickness.
22. Wantsai School—Headmaster, Mr. E. J. Edwards. Maximum enrolment 206. Average attendance 194—a slight decrease. The strength of the teaching staff has been increased by the addition of an English master.
23. The Classes have been re-organised so that better use may be made of the new arrivals from the feeder-school, Gap Road. Lessons in elementary science now replace object lessons.
