90. All Government and Grant-in-Aid School premises have been inspected regularly.
91. A Sub-Committee of the Board of Education, with the Medical Officer of Schools, made suggestions as to new Hygiene Regulations, the latest having been drafted in 1914. New regulations were gazetted in December. No new school will henceforth be registered without satisfactory latrine accommodation, and no desk allowed to be nearer to the black-board than three feet. Eight square feet of space per child will be the least space permitted in a classroom in a Vernacular or other school. Over thirty new premises of Vernacular schools were inspected during December, and it is hoped that conditions will gradually be improved.
92. Lectures on Hygiene were given in the Technical Institute, classes being formed for both English and Vernacular Teachers.
93. A Health Exhibition was held during "Health Week" in October, when short lantern demonstrations on various health subjects were given and posters, models, etc. shown.
94. Two new physical training mistresses arrived during the year, and it has been possible to increase the scope of drill in Belilios Public School and in the British Schools, and to hold regular Physical Classes for the Vernacular Teachers classes of the Technical Institute.
