87. The undermentioned works suffered considerable damage:- Slope behind Peak Garage, Road to "Lysholt" Peak, Tai Hang Road Construction. The repairs were completed by the end of the year.

88. Slight damage in the form of small washouts and scours to carriageways was also caused in several roads not yet surfaced with asphaltum. An unrestricted supply was therefore maintained for 244 days during the year as compared with ninety-seven days in 1930.

90. The mainland supply was re-opened on 21st April and continued until the end of the year. The total quantity delivered during that period was 632.63 million gallons, equivalent to an average of 2.48 million gallons per day.

91. Water from the new Aberdeen Supply became available on 1st August and from that date until the end of the year a total quantity of 168.55 million gallons was delivered to the Elliot Filter Beds, equivalent to an average daily supply of 1.10 million gallons.

92. The Aberdeen Upper Dam was formally opened by His Excellency The Governor on 15th December.

93. The total quantity of water stored in the impounding reservoirs on 1st January amounted to 1,487.04 million gallons, of which 256.75 million gallons were in the gravitation reservoirs and 1,230.29 million gallons in the low-level reservoirs requiring pumping. Storage reached a minimum on the 7th April when the total was 812.47 million gallons, 212.80 million gallons being in the gravitation reservoirs.
