R 3-5.—MONEY ORDER.
The combined total of the year's transactions on Money Orders and British Postal Orders shows a decrease of about £4,000 as compared with that of 1929. The shrinkage in Gold value of the Silver currency of China's transactions when converted into Sterling would partly account for the decrease as the average rate of the silver dollar in 1929 was 18/11d. whilst that of 1930 it was only 18/4d.
