The total amount of Guinea Grass cut on the cultivated hillside at Kennedy Town was 2,174 piculs. This was disposed of as follows:

1,107 piculs sold to butchers @ 25 cts. per picul $276.75

182 piculs sent to Bacteriological Institute No charge

182 piculs sent to Government House made.

702 piculs used for Sanitary Department Animals

QUARANTINE.

The numbers of animals examined and passed through quarantine during the year are as follows:-

Horses 322

Dogs 144

Elephants 6

Lions 8

Tigers 4

Bears 2

The above does not include animals imported for slaughter or animals consigned to Military Authority.

Imported horses and mules unless accompanied by a satisfactory "Mallein" certificate are detained until they have passed the 'Mallein' test.

Other animals are quarantined for varying periods according to their place of origin.
