Acknowledgements are here made to the Naval Authorities for their co-operation in securing daily observations from H.M. ships and upper air temperatures in aeroplanes, to the Directors of Weather Services in the Far East, and the Chinese Maritime Customs Authorities, for daily observations by cable and radio-telegraphy, and extra observations during typhoon weather, to the Telegraph Companies for transmitting the majority of the observations free of charge, to the Commanders of vessels who have furnished meteorological observations by post and by radio-telegraphy, to the Directors of the various Observatories and Institutions, and private persons, who have presented their publications to the Library, and to the Observatory staff for the efficient manner in which they have carried out their respective duties, particularly to Mr. Jeffries, who had charge of the Observatory in my absence, and to Mr. Evans who acted as Chief Assistant. A considerable amount of extra work was thrown on both.
