1. Paid Traffic. The total paid Radiotelegraph traffic for 1928 is 90,373 messages 799,150 words representing an increase over the figures for 1927 of 41,254 messages 318,901 words or nearly 100% increase.

2. Ship Traffic shows decreases of 722 messages 25,903 words as compared with the previous year.

The peak was reached in March when 348 messages 4,140 words were forwarded and 1,021 messages 10,311 words were received. Traffic during 1928 was generally lower than during 1927.

From January 1st 1928 the coast station charge was reduced from 30 cents to 25 cents per word and the minimum charge for 10 words was abolished. That this reduction in rates has not had the desired effect is plainly evident.
