Parcels posted in Hong Kong for despatch to other countries showed an increase of 14,324 and parcels received for delivery in Hong Kong showed an increase of 10,692.
Parcels sent in transit through Hong Kong showed a decrease of 21,335. This is probably due to other administrations arranging direct Services with each other instead of using Hong Kong as an intermediary office.
During the last half year the Wei Hai Wei Agency was instructed to close direct mails to India and Rangoon, which accounts for the majority of the parcels contained in the above decrease.
Full details appear in Table III.
