SURVEY OF COLONY.
7. City of Victoria.-Revision work only has been carried out 10.7 acres being surveyed with a chainage of 21 miles. Eighteen survey sheets have been reduced from a scale of 1 inch to 100 feet to a scale of 1 inch to 2400 feet.
1. Pokfulam-Area surveyed and plotted 53.33 acres, total length of traverse 4 miles with an average closing error of 1 in 11,000.
Deep Water Bay.-Area surveyed and plotted 50 acres, total length of traverse 2 miles with an average closing error of 1 in 12,300.
Repulse Bay--In this district, the survey of which was reported completed in the last report, revision work has been carried out necessitating a survey of 2 acres with a chainage of 1/4 mile.
Tytam-Area surveyed and plotted 8 acres. Total length of traverse 0.43 miles (or ¾ of a mile, if written as fraction, but the original is kept as is) with an average closing error of 1 in 9,600.
Sai Wan Area surveyed and plotted 27 acres. Total length of traverses 2.1 miles with an average closing error of 1 in 9,000.
Shaukiwan.-Area surveyed and plotted 3 acres. Length of traverses 1 mile.
Quarry Bay Area surveyed and plotted 91 acres. Total length of traverses 7 miles with an average closing error of 1 in 9,500.
Peak. Revision work only has been undertaken here 27.10 acres having been surveyed and 5 miles of traverses having been run, the average closing error of which was 1 in 8,000. The greatest error being 1 in 5,700 and the least 1 in 10,900.
Kowloon. During the year 393 acres were surveyed of which 332 acres have been plotted. Various traverses were run for picking up detail, the total length being 40 miles. The greatest closing error being 1 in 3,300 and the least 1 in 20,000.
Main Traverses.-The following traverses were run-From Red Hill triangulation station to junction of Island Road with road to Stanley. Length 1.34 miles, closing error 1 in 7,500.
From Junction of Sassoon Road with Victoria Road to junction of Victoria Road with Mount Davis Road. Length 1.42 miles, closing error 1 in 11,000.
