4.-REVENUE AND EXPENDITURE
Table IV contains a statement of Postal Revenue and Expenditure for the year.
The total revenue from the Postal Service in 1927 amounted to $767,250.13, an increase on the previous year of $68,644.00. The Expenditure for 1927 amounted to $336,885.29 or $73,110.25 more than that of the previous year. The increase in Transit payments as compared with 1926 is due to settlement of Transit Accounts with Japan for the years 1924 and 1925 being effected in 1927 and to non-receipt of Transit dues from the United States of America for the years 1924, 1925 and 1926.
The balance of Revenue over Expenditure amounted to $430,364.84.
Table V shows Postage Stamps etc. of each denomination issued for sale during the years 1926 and 1927.
Table VI shows the Revenue and Expenditure of the Post Office for the ten years 1918 to 1927.
Table VII gives the Revenue from the sale of Postage Stamps, month by month, for the years 1925, 1926 and 1927.
The Revenue from this source had almost doubled during the past ten years and were as follows:-

The trend of the year's Money Order Office transactions shows a favourable re-action from the constant decreases in the yearly working since 1921. With the exception of Local Postal Notes, which show a slight falling off of $64.25 there are increases on all the other heads :-viz: Money Orders £4,855.10.6; British Postal Orders issued £603.4.0; British Postal Orders paid £209.8.9.
