30. Typhoon and Rainstorm Damages.--During the typhoon and heavy rainfall on the morning of August 20th, a few private buildings were seriously affected, but it was unnecessary to take action in more than six cases.

The usual procedure was adopted in each instance, of inspecting and, where necessary, arranging for shoring. The most serious collapse occurred at No. 191, Nanchang Street, on N.K.I.L. 222. This caused the death of three persons, and injuries to six others.
