Vehicular Ferry Piers.-Under "Ferry Piers", the construction of Vehicular Ferry Piers was referred to on page 182 of last year's Report.

During the year Mr. Andrew Nicol, Engineer in the Port Works Office, in the course of proceeding on home leave, visited, inspected and reported on various vehicular ferry services at ports in the United States and in England.

A sessional paper on the proposed vehicular ferry services together with illustrative plans was being compiled at the end of the year.

No expenditure was incurred during the year on works under this scheme.

SPECIAL EXPENDITURE.

Harbour Surveying.-Hydrographic surveys were made off Kowloon Point and in front of the Quay Walls at M.L's 430 and 431, North Point, and also surveys of the sites of various reclamations under construction.
