Harbour Developments.
PORT DEVELOPMENT SUB-DEPARTMENT.
The former Port Development Department reverted to the control of the Director of Public Works and became a Sub-department of the Public Works Department again on January 1st, 1926.
The Estimates, however, had been separated and for convenience the report on the expenditure and work of this Sub-department is here dealt with separately, as last year, but in future this Annexe will be abolished and the report on this work will be incorporated in the general report.
In April Mr. R. Baker left the Colony on leave and was succeeded by Mr. A. Anderson as Engineer in charge. The post of Port Engineer was abolished.

Savings were also effected under Conveyance Allowances, Transport and Travelling Expenses, Electric Light, Uniforms, etc.
Savings under (ii) Special Expenditure were due to the suspension of the purchase of office equipment and filing cabinets and to the suspension of surveys of certain areas of the harbour.
