Blasting of Rock at Kowloon City for line of Ma Tau Chung Nullah.—The blasting of a large boulder was carried out as far back as was required.

Compensation and Resumptions.-This vote provided for the resumption of properties required for street widening and improvement schemes, and in connection with the development of the district in accordance with the approved Town Planning Scheme. The resumptions effected are scheduled on page 52. In addition the sum of $67,000.00 paid for the structures on H.H.I.L.'s 227, 228, 243-247 and 250-252 was debited to this vote. These lots were resumed on the basis of an exchange particulars of which will be found on page 21 of the Annual Report for 1924.

The following is a list of the principal extensions carried out during the year:—
(a) A new main was laid from Piper's Hill Service Reservoir to the new Water Boat Dock at Lai Chi Kok. It consists of 150 ft. of 18" pipe, 1,650 ft. of 12" pipe and 1,700 ft. of 8″ pipe. Supplies from the new dock were available from 1st October and by the 15th October all supplies at Lai Chi Kok were connected to the Piper's Hill Supply and the old Filter Beds and Tanks were permanently closed down.
(b) The 24" pipes referred to in item (i) of Para. 191 of 1925 Report were laid through the South Filter Beds Tunnel and the old 18″ main taken up.
(c) 780 lin ft. of 6" main along Mong Kok Road Eastwards from Nathan Road.
(d) 900 lin. ft. of 4" main along Waterloo Road N.E. from South end of Victory Avenue.
(e) 600 lin. ft. of 5" main along Ma Tau Kok Road, Eastwards from Pak Tai Street.
