Resumptions.

46. Resumptions for Street Widening, etc.-The Sub-department known as the Resumptions Office deals with all resumptions of properties required for Street Widening and other purposes, except in cases where areas of Crown Land are granted in exchange for the areas required which are dealt with by the Crown Lands Office on the basis of valuations prepared by the Resumptions Office.

In addition to the valuations and preparation of terms for the Resumptions given in schedules on pages 39 to 44, the following valuations were made:-

(i.) Valuations for the Estate Duty Commissioner-81 properties totalling $1,368,247.

(ii.) Valuations for the Treasury in connection with Government Local Loans-30 properties totalling $929,400.

(iii) Valuations for Contract Securities-12 properties totalling $101,179.

(iv.) Special Valuations required by Government of sundry properties-14 properties totalling $657,038.97.

(v.) Amended valuations in connection with the proposed grant of Government properties in Morrison Hill Road and Wanchai Road in exchange for properties required at East Point for the road improvement-64 hereditaments totalling $985,498.

(vi.) Valuations for Trade Loan Committee-827 properties totalling $13,030,518. The valuations required by this committee were finally disposed of during the year.

(vii.) Confidential valuations required by Government-10 properties totalling $1,057,228.

(viii.) Valuations of properties for Stamp Duty-2 properties totalling $33,500.

(ix.) Valuations of properties, proposed to be acquired by Government-5 properties totalling $356,800.

(x.) Valuations of properties for Official Receiver-2 properties totalling $86,120.

(xi.) Valuations of Securities offered by Insurance Companies-7 properties totalling $182,500.

(xii.) Valuations of properties for Rateable Improvement-1 property value $24,200.

(xiii) Valuations of properties for Assessment-3 properties totalling $428,500.
