The amount of grass cut from the hillside above Kennedy Town during 1926 was 299 tons 4 cwt.

Quarantine.

The number of animals examined and passed through quarantine during the year are as follows:--

Horses Dogs Cattle 37 61 5

Imported horses and horses and mules unless accompanied by a satisfactory Mallein certificate are detained until they have passed the Mallein test.

Dogs and cattle are quarantined for varying periods.

Observation cases

During the year 263 dogs were placed under observation on account of being suspected of being rabid. In addition 20 carcases were sent direct to the Bacteriological Institute for examination of the brain for evidence of Rabies.

The 263 dogs were disposed of as follows:-

Returned to owner 155 Died 34 Destroyed. 30 Sent to S.P.C.A. Dogs' Home 36 Remaining under observation. 8

84 dog brains were examined by the Bacteriologist with the following result:-
