32. Prosecutions.-The following is a tabulated statement of the cases in which legal proceedings were taken with regard to illegal works and other nuisances, the number of convictions obtained, and the amount of fines imposed:

33. Tests of Mortar.-During the year 76 samples of mortar were taken and tests carried out. It was necessary to prosecute in a number of cases. Convictions were recorded in each case and fines amounting to $510 were imposed.

34. Testing Drains.-Fees amounting to $320 were collected on account of additional inspections necessitated by carelessness or negligence on the part of persons concerned in carrying out the work.

491 drainage tests were made during the year.

35. Modifications.-Written modifications of various sections of the P. H. & B. Ordinance were granted in 80 cases, under the powers conferred by Section 264(b) as compared with the year 1924.
