11. The figures for the year show a decline in the number of assisted emigrants, which was only about 87% of the number in 1924.

(a) Banca—The assisted emigration to Banca continued during the year. There was only about 40% of that in comparison with 1924.

(b) Deli, Sumatra—The Assisted Emigration to Deli this year was the same as in 1924.

(c) British North Borneo, Sandakan and Miri—The figures for 1925 were about 95% of those in 1924, but the total is still below that of 1923.

(d) There were 471 emigrants to Ocean Island, 141 to Singapore, 13 to Solomon Island and 67 to Calcutta, while there were 2,756 emigrants during the year to Billiton as against none in 1924.

(iii)—MISCELLANEOUS.

12. The total number of free emigrants to the Fiji Islands passed through this office was 10 as compared with 18 in 1924. The men went as usual in small parties at irregular intervals.

13. Decrepits.—The number of decrepits repatriated was as follows:

(a) From Penang.—Sixty-two as against 164 in 1924, were repatriated at the expense of the Protector of Chinese, Penang.

(b) From Singapore.—32 were returned from Singapore as compared with 18 in 1924—in 1923.
