CHANGES IN THE STAFF.

Dr. D. J. Valentine appointed acting Medical Officer in charge, Civil Hospital and Asylums from 25th February vice Dr. C. W. McKenny on leave.

Dr. G. W. Pope transferred to Sanitary Department on 12th November.

Dr. H. L. Clift resigned on 8th March.

Dr. E. M. Minett appointed temporary Assistant Medical Officer in charge of Native Hospitals from 1st May to 15th July vice Dr. A. D. Hickling on leave and later appointed as Assistant Medical Officer for Schools from 16th July.

Miss H. A. Lawrence retired on 12th August.

Misses E. M. Smith and E. B. Rennie both resigned from 11th April and Misses A. J. Halligan and M. Kelly resigned from 16th June and 30th November respectively.

Mr. L. A. Collyer appointed Assistant Attendant, Lunatic Asylum on 17th October, and arrived in the Colony on 26th November.

The amount sanctioned in the Estimates was $715,208 and the Expenditure was $623,241.10.

For Medical Treatment, $ 60,296.85 Medical Certificates, 35.00 Bacteriological Examination, 3,536.40 Chemical Analyses, 23,000.00 Bills of Health, 11,706.00 Medical Examination of Emigrants, 95,973.50 Total, $194,547.75
