CASES DETERMINED AT THE KOWLOON MAGISTRACY IN 1925 OF OFFENCES IN CONNECTION WITH THE STRIKE AND BOYCOTT.

1.-Arms & Ammunition Ordinance, (No. 2 of 1900) and penalties laid down by G.N. 399 of 1925.

No cases of arms were recorded in the Kowloon Magistracy in which there was a special connection with the strike.

2.-Intimidation Ordinance, (No. 13 of 1920).

Of the 5 cases tried at the Kowloon Magistracy, three cases were dismissed, in the other two the following convictions were registered:- 2 houseboys, 6 months and 1 month respectively. An unemployed coolie 6 months and a Chinese sapper, R.E. was bound over for 6 months.

3.-Seditious Publications, Ordinance No. 6 of 1914. G.N. 100 of 1925.

No cases were tried.

4.-Imports & Exports Ordinance, No. 32 of 1915, G.N. 367 of 1925 as amended by G.N. 498 of 1925.

There were 106 cases involved in the exporting of Hongkong currency during the last seven months of 1925. The majority of cases were heard during the latter part of June, and during July. The others were widely spread through August and the following months, getting less as the year progressed. The usual penalty incurred was the confiscation of all money over the specified figure of $5 Hongkong currency.
