During the year the laying of the 18" C.I. Raw Water Main, 540 yards in length, from the Tunnel mouth to the New Gauge Basin, was completed.

The New Gauge Basin and pipes to the upper tier of beds were completed in March and the upper tier of beds was practically finished by November, 4 beds being brought into use in December.

Part of the 18" Bypass Main around the Reservoir has been laid, as well as a temporary 12" main connecting the existing 12" main to Happy Valley.

The concrete walls and invert to the lower tier of beds were practically completed, and about half the coping fixed, by the end of the year. About half of the excavation for the Reservoir has been removed, and a commencement made with the concrete foundations of the North wall. A length of 1,000 feet of 18" C.I. main has been laid at Wongneichong Village in connection with this Scheme.

This work was referred to in paragraph 140 of last year's Report.

Contract No. 31 of 1924 for the extension of the Pump Pit was signed in June with Mr. Ng Wah, and was completed in December.

Contract No. 40 of 1924 for the Extensions to the Engine and Boiler Houses was signed in November with Mr. Ng Wah. Good progress was made by the end of the year.
