(t.) Main Roads in City,-Surfacing with Asphaltum.---This was referred to in paragraph 106 (*) of last year's Report.

Connaught Road Central, between Cleverley and Hillier Streets and from Douglas Street to 300 feet westwards, was surfaced, half the width on the Southern side with asphaltic sand carpeting 2" thick laid on cement concrete foundation 6" thick, and on the Northern side with granite setts on cement concrete foundation 6" thick.

A portion of the Cricket Ground near the City Hall was set back in order to open out the bend at the junction of Queen's Road and Jackson Road. The carriageway was raised to new level and surfaced with asphaltum sand carpeting.
