107. Dredging off Kowloon Point. Dredging for the Western and Southern approaches to the new pier of the Hongkong and Kowloon Wharf and Godown Co., Ltd., was continued and was completed during the year. Operations were again hampered by breakdowns and by the difficulty of obtaining suitable European Officers for the vessel. This difficulty ultimately became so acute that from August to December, when operations were completed, the dredger was manned entirely with Chinese. It is worthy of note that, during this period, whilst the progress made was slow, no breakdowns occurred.

Extensive repairs had to be made to the ladder of the "St. Enoch" and the vessel was docked for scraping and painting. The
