REPORT OF THE CAPTAIN SUPERINTENDENT OF POLICE

FOR THE YEAR 1915.

The total of all cases reported to the Police during the year 1915 was 9,460 as against 8,817 in 1914 being an increase of 643 or 7·29 per cent.

The average for the last five years is 10,447.

In the division of these cases into Serious and Minor Offences there appears an increase, as compared with 1914, of 140 cases or 4.69 per cent. in the former and of 503 cases or 8.62 per cent. in the latter.

The increase and decrease as compared with 1914 in Serious Offences are shown as follows:-
