# APPENDIX B.

Method of Teaching "Action Verbs" in Appendix A. These verbs need not necessarily be taught in the order given; but may be arranged to suit each teacher's convenience.

Three boys are chosen and named 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

The 1st one performs the action, e.g., Stand and exclaims,

"I am standing up"

The 2nd one points to the 1st and exclaims:

"You are standing up".

The 3rd one looks at his teacher and exclaims:

"He is standing up".

After a little practice, the sentences can be amplified, e.g.,

"I am standing up on the form".

After the pupils have acquired a knowledge of such verbs as stand, come, open, shut, fold, clean, walk, run, &c., they should be allowed to perform these actions in front of their class without any prompting from their teacher.

# DOUBLE ACTION VERBS.

These are taught practically in the same manner as above; but in addition, some of the rules of Verbs are included, e.g., Stand and Sit.
